Sellers Wins Ohio Derby
In a year when the next big movie is about a race horse ,"Seabiscuit", Lofton Creek’s Shane Sellers is really in vogue. He won the feature race a Churchill Downs on Thursday June 19th, flew to Dallas Friday morningandcame in second in the All Star Jockey Challenge, and then jetted to Cleveland Saturday for the Ohio Derby. He won the Derby on "Wild and Wicked" and back to Louisville on Sunday to race there. He plans to take a day of on Monday.Probably to go horse back riding. Sellers, a Louisiana native, lives in Louisville. He has ridden in 11 consecutive Kentucky Derbies, a streak surpassed only by Pat Day, who has ridden in the last 17.
